Wizz Air Abu Dhabi today revealed details of its ‘#GetLostwithWizz’ competition. The low-cost carrier is looking to inspire travelers to be adventurous with their travel plans by setting off to a mystery destination somewhere across the airline’s network.
Weekend of adventure
The cost of travel continues to soar in this recovery period, backed by plenty of operational challenges. High fuel prices, lack of staff, airport wait times, and flight cancellations are all taking their toll on the travel industry, creating a tough environment for passengers. However, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi could have a solution for some lucky jet-setters.
The UAE-based carrier will deploy one of its Airbus A321 planes full of competition winners to an undisclosed destination next month. The weekend getaway trip will start in Abu Dhabi on Friday 26th August, where the flight will depart. The aircraft will then return on Sunday 28th August.
The competition begins at 14:00 GST today and closes at 23:59 GST on 7th August. To take part, potential passengers must have a public Instagram public profile and follow @WizzAir. They then have to share a post of their most unforgettable travel experience while tagging the airline with the hashtag #GetLostwithWizz.

Wizz Air highlights that it is looking for innovative, exciting, or funny posts that stand out. They are also keen on high engagement. Altogether, there will be 100 lucky winners.

Potential picks
Despite Wizz Air Dhabi commencing flights fewer than two years ago, the airline already has an expansive network across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Several of the carrier’s destinations are popular summer tourism sites. Winners could be setting off on routes to the likes of Greece, Cyprus, and Egypt.
Some partakers may be looking to take advantage of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi adding the Maldives to its network. However, flights to the resort hotspot will only begin in October. Another Indian Ocean destination could have also been on the cards, with Wizz adding Sri Lanka’s Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport to its route map, but the flight launch was postponed due to the nation’s economic crisis.
Regardless, there are still plenty of attractive options for holidaymakers looking to make a quick getaway. Since it’s only a weekend trip, it won’t be too much of a disaster if the destination wasn’t a favorite. Applicants will just be happy to have the opportunity to travel during these challenging times.
